Thank you everyone for coming out to our new location Grand Opening Event this past Saturday! We were happy to see Querencia Alumni and new faces alike. It was a complete success, and every bit of donations we received greatly helps the shop keep the doors open to serve the community. We are so grateful for every bit of support!
But we have to ask the community at large for continued support through our GoFundMe campaign. As our volunteers are hard at work getting bikes back on the road for everyone that walks through our doors, we are also working behind the scenes to secure our financial and fiduciary obligations with the state and federal governing bodies. In this process, we are working to reestablish our 501 (c)(3) non-profit status.
We have always, and will always, operate as a not-for-profit organization. Our goals are to serve the community in a greater effort in line with the original missions of our founding members. But, our non-profit status with the IRS has lapsed after a few years of dormancy. We just need that extra boost to get over the hurdle of the state and federal fees.
